What the program covers
The Tightrope suite includes two courses covering substance use — one focused on alcohol and one on the broader drug landscape. Together they give students honest, non-judgmental education grounded in harm-reduction principles.
Tightrope: Alcohol — an honest, practical look at alcohol from personal motivations to real-world intervention:
- Perception vs. reality of peer drinking habits
- Standard drinks, ABV, rate of absorption, and BAC science
- Lower-risk drinking strategies and tolerance
- Scenario-based night-out bystander intervention practice
- Medical amnesty and emergency response
Clearing the Haze on Drugs — covers the full landscape of drug use and builds skills for keeping peers safe:
- Six drug categories and their effects on the body
- Perception vs. reality of campus drug use
- Potency, fentanyl contamination, and mixing substances
- Lower-risk harm-reduction strategies
- Recognizing overdose signs and using naloxone
- Intervention scenarios and reporting resources
